Professional Coaching for

The STEM Professional

Welcome to The STEM Professional

The career landscape for professionals in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines has diversified rapidly over the last couple of decades. Traditionally, the focus of STEM career and professional development has been on academic teaching and research positions with a secondary emphasis on research and development in for-profit companies. Navigating next steps and career moves for new graduates and early career professionals can be both exciting and daunting. Universities and employment services can provide important resources to students and job seekers. However, these resources are often unavailable to graduates or are insufficiently tailored to STEM disciplines. I created The STEM Professional to address this gap. My goal is to provide tailored support and resources for STEM professionals exploring career options and seeking to advance their careers.

About Me

As a STEM professional myself, I care deeply about the success of other STEM professionals. I earned my B.S. in Biochemistry from Denison University and my Ph.D. from the University of Michigan Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. While working as a postdoctoral fellow, I came to appreciate that the most rewarding aspect of my work was mentoring other scientists in their research and professional journeys. I have been working in career and professional development for STEM graduate students and early-career scientists since 2017. As a certified Gallup StrengthsFinder Coach, I take a strengths-based approach to my coaching to help STEM professionals build careers that align with their skills, interests, and values.
